About the role
EIDU is seeking an Education Officer to support the strategic enhancement of education in public and private schools within Niger. You will play a central role in rolling out EIDU’s digital learning programs by collaborating closely with local, state, and federal government bodies. This position is key to ensuring the successful implementation and sustainability of the program while maintaining strong relationships with government officials at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of the EIDU Program pilot, including facilitating teacher training, onboarding, and continuous support.
- Provide training and ongoing support to schools and government officers on using the EIDU Field App and dashboards for planning and reporting.
- Champion the adoption of digital platforms by educators for lesson planning and student engagement.
- Act as a liaison between EIDU and state-level activities, representing the organization when necessary.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with state government education officers to advocate for impactful training programs.
- Compile and present progress reports to government officials and executive leaders.
- Conduct school visits to observe program implementation, provide feedback, and support teachers.
- Collaborate with the government relations team on data collection and program promotion.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of EIDU’s digital learning platforms and materials.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and child protection during all interactions.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in training and 2 years in team management.
- Proficiency in ICT tools such as Word, Excel, issue management systems (e.g., CRM), and Android smartphones.
- A strong interest in digital teaching and learning.
- Excellent understanding of adult learning principles and training delivery.
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English, as well as local languages.
- Proven experience in community leadership and leading teams to achieve objectives.
- Experience in mentorship, training, and coaching of youth and adults.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in implementing education programs.
- Fluency in English and Hausa.
