About the role
IOTA Group is seeking an experienced E3D Model Lead & PDMS Administrator to join an E & P Company in Port Harcourt. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate 3D plant models using AVEVA E3D, ensuring they align with approved engineering information, project standards, and client specifications. This position requires strong expertise in multidisciplinary coordination, model validation, and database administration within a projectized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and information management teams to create and modify plant components.
- Perform clash detection and model validation to resolve spatial conflicts and minimize rework.
- Develop and optimize workflows for the engineering design system, incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices.
- Ensure the 3D model reflects the latest approved engineering data and complies with codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Participate in quality assurance, model verification, and design checks to identify clashes, accessibility issues, and constructability concerns.
- Produce and update isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, and other model-generated deliverables.
- Interpret engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping specifications to translate them into accurate 3D models.
- Set up and administer AVEVA 3D databases for the Project Portfolio Management organization.
- Develop piping layouts considering routing, accessibility, operation, maintenance, stress requirements, and constructability.
- Maintain proper model hierarchy, naming conventions, tagging, attributes, and database integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AVEVA E3D/PDMS modelling and management.
- Expert proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD and AVEVA PDMS/E3D as a key user.
- Experience in Oil and Gas EPC Projects, Energy, Petrochemical, Infrastructure, or Industrial Facilities.
- Competence in 3D model review, clash detection, model validation, and design checking.
- Strong ability to model piping, structural, and electric designs using AVEVA E3D.
- Experience working with laser scan point clouds and industrial E3D models.
- Expert level skills in AutoCAD and point cloud processing workflows.
- Familiarity with various AVEVA E3D modules including Draw, Iso-draft, Paragon, Administration, and Lexicon.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Understanding of piping components, valves, fittings, supports, equipment, structural steel, and access requirements.
- Ability to set up MDS (multidisciplinary support system) and manage projects/databases using AVEVA E3D modules.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work to tight project schedules while maintaining quality.
- Nigerian nationality is required for this position.
