About the role
HBM Nigeria Plc, formerly Lafarge Africa Plc, is a leading Nigerian building solutions company and a member of the Huaxin Building Materials Group. Listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the company plays a key role in Nigeria’s urbanisation and economic growth. We are looking for a Draughtsman to join our team in Sagamu, Ogun, on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural drawings using CAD technologies.
- Manage plant documentation, ensuring all manufacturers’ drawings are safe, accessible, and properly maintained.
- Make modifications to existing designs to improve safety, equipment reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare bills of quantities and job estimates.
- Lead investigations into chronic or recurring problems and implement improved solutions.
- Supervise and monitor construction jobs on site to ensure proper interpretation of drawings.
- Support inspection and planning processes as needed.
- Perform the role of UCC for contracted tasks, ensuring completion on schedule.
- Confirm that delivered items and spares meet order specifications.
- Adhere to the company’s safety and environmental policies and participate in safety initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of work experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, including rotating machines, equipment maintenance, and condition monitoring in a refinery, power, or heavy process plant.
- Strong knowledge of cement plant equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email applications.
- Excellent management skills and the ability to organize and plan effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple project plans simultaneously.
- Capability to motivate individuals and coach diverse teams.
