About the role
Sol-Wood Africa is a leading plywood manufacturing company committed to innovation, sustainability, and excellence. We are looking for a Dispatcher In Charge to serve as the central point of coordination between finished goods, production, quality control, sales, logistics, security, and transportation teams. This full-time role is based in Onipetesi and Odigbo, Ondo State.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch activities in line with approved customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Verify the quantity, product type, dimensions, and grade of plyboard before dispatch to ensure accuracy and prevent loss.
- Maintain accurate records of finished goods dispatched, including delivery notes, loading sheets, and reconciliation reports.
- Supervise truck loading, driver coordination, and vehicle suitability to ensure safe and timely transportation.
- Follow up on deliveries to confirm goods arrive at the correct destination in the expected condition.
- Reconcile physical dispatch records with warehouse stock records and report any variances immediately.
- Enforce company policies regarding dispatch, loading, documentation, and workplace safety.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in dispatch, warehouse operations, logistics, or distribution.
- Experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in plywood, building materials, or FMCG, is an added advantage.
- Minimum of HND in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with inventory management or ERP systems.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in preventing inventory losses.
- Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise personnel.
