About the role
Oando Plc, one of Africa’s largest integrated energy solutions providers, is looking for a Digital Communications Officer to join its team in Lagos. You will report to the Corporate Communications Manager. In this position, you will drive the company’s digital and social media strategy to build brand awareness, trust, and engagement. You will also support the public personas of key executives to strengthen Oando’s reputation as a forward-thinking organization.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and execute integrated digital and social media campaigns aligned with business priorities.
- Manage online communities across all brand channels, responding to comments and complaints in real time.
- Develop original culture content, such as employee stories and behind-the-scenes features, in collaboration with Internal Communications.
- Create digital content that highlights the distinct business focus and strengths of Oando’s subsidiaries.
- Manage third-party vendors, including digital and advertising agencies, to ensure quality delivery.
- Monitor digital sentiment and escalate emerging issues to protect brand reputation.
- Guide and support the Digital Communications Analyst and Digital Intern in day-to-day tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject, preferably in Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Humanities.
- Minimum of 5–6 years of marketing communications experience, including PR, social media, or events.
- Proven experience in developing and executing digital/social media campaigns from planning to analytics.
- Experience managing online communities on platforms like Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Proficiency with analytics tools such as Supermetrics, Looker, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
- Experience managing external vendors for project delivery.
- Experience covering live events or developing ESG-focused content is desirable.
