About the role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is seeking a Desktop Support Officer to join their team in Sunti, Niger. This position focuses on providing IT support across various technologies and collaborating with business units to resolve technical issues. The goal is to ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems and end-user technology services while minimizing business disruption.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely resolution of IT incidents to minimize downtime for end-users.
- Install, configure, and support desktop computers, laptops, telephony systems, wireless networks, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Perform desk-side technical assistance and desktop support activities as required.
- Maintain desktop infrastructure through routine maintenance, upgrades, patches, and releases.
- Monitor endpoint security compliance, including operating system updates and antivirus definitions.
- Document, log, track, and escalate incidents according to established support procedures.
Requirements
- Qualification: Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant desktop support or IT support experience in a medium-sized organization.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, customer focus, ability to prioritize tasks, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
