About the role
Jumia is Africa’s leading internet group, operating in over 20 countries. This role focuses on managing the defective warehouse, ensuring accurate processing of customer returns, and maintaining high standards of inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Oversee receiving, reconciliation, and inventory management for defective items.
- Manage team performance, including appraisals and training on inventory processes.
- Ensure all defective packages are logged into the warehouse system on time.
- Maintain precise inventory records specific to the defective warehouse stock.
- Prevent inventory losses through continuous monitoring and tracking.
- Conduct quality and defect checks to verify customer claims and categorize damage.
- Manage the queue and physical storage of items in transit to the warehouse.
- Suggest system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Escalate discrepancies or operational issues to senior management promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proven experience in FMCG, warehouse management, or order management.
- Experience with quality assessment and control management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate staff.
- Must hold an NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Willingness to work overtime as mutually agreed.
