About the role
Group Aldelia Nigeria is recruiting a Data Management Support Professional for an Oil & Gas / Exploration & Production client. This full-time role is based in Port Harcourt, Rivers. You will maintain geophysics databases, support geoscientists, and ensure the optimal performance of critical geophysical applications.
Responsibilities
- Generate computer-based geophysics documents, charts, and interpretation materials.
- Ensure the functionality and availability of the SISMAGE geophysics software application.
- Develop and maintain procedures for electronic data exchange with partners.
- Maintain accurate and accessible geophysics databases using various data sources.
- Manage seismic data archives, including indexing, transfer, and storage.
- Monitor disk space utilization and prepare forward capacity plans.
- Test software applications and liaise with vendors for improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to geophysicists on SISMAGE applications.
- Support well data loading and updates through HQ DATAGATE.
- Maintain accurate well databases within the EUREKA application.
- Coordinate with IT teams to manage GSR disk space and Linux environments.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Science, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting geoscientists and managing technical data in an oil and gas environment.
- Good knowledge of Linux, MAJIX, and XRAI NICE DCV environments.
- Hands-on experience with the SISMAGE application.
- Experience in seismic data acquisition and management.
- Strong database management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Several years of relevant experience in Geophysics and Geoscience data management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
