About the role
Moniepoint Incorporated is a global business payments and banking platform serving over 600,000 businesses. We are looking for an analytical and execution-driven Credit Risk Analyst to join one of our consumer lending product squads.
In this position, you will act as the embedded risk owner. You will bring together credit policy and portfolio management analytics to ensure our products balance rapid growth with robust credit risk controls. You will design, monitor, and refine credit policies while overseeing portfolio performance and compliance with CBN/MFB and KYC/AML standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide risk-based input on pricing, limits, and product design.
- Collaborate with the Decision Science team to develop credit scorecards and scoring models.
- Monitor portfolio quality and produce performance reports.
- Identify and mitigate operational, fraud, and process risks.
- Develop and maintain credit policies and decision rules aligned with company risk appetite.
- Act as the squad’s liaison to central Compliance/Legal and escalate issues promptly.
- Champion a “risk by design” culture by educating squad members on best practices.
- Maintain dashboards and analytics for repayment behaviour and risk KPIs.
- Lead end-to-end risk assessment design for new products and features.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in consumer credit portfolio management.
- Demonstrable experience in Credit Risk management, including acquisition optimisation and portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements such as CBN guidelines, AML/CFT, and Data Protection.
- Essential proficiency in SQL; Python (NumPy, Pandas) is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to translate risk concepts for product and engineering teams.
- A good knowledge of financial analysis is an added advantage.
