About the role
Bergstein Hospital is looking for a competent and people-focused Consultant Oncologist. You will play a key role in supporting the development of a high-performing clinical team and ensuring patients receive professional, accountable care.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care.
- Request, interpret, and review relevant diagnostic investigations.
- Manage patients with acute and chronic conditions and provide follow-up care.
- Perform specialist procedures and interventions within your area of competence.
- Provide specialist consultations, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Uphold professional ethics, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- A recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- A relevant postgraduate specialist qualification in Oncology.
- Current registration and a valid practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrable clinical experience in the speciality.
- Strong diagnostic, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
- A compassionate and patient-focused approach to healthcare delivery.
