About the role
Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi is seeking a College Librarian to lead the administration of the college library. As a Principal Officer, you will report directly to the Provost and coordinate library services across the academic units. This is a five-year appointment in line with the Federal Colleges of Education Act.
Responsibilities
- Administer the College Library.
- Coordinate library services within the academic units of the College.
- Manage human and material resources efficiently.
Requirements
- Education: A Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or Information Science with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience, OR a PhD in Library/Information Science with at least 12 years of experience.
- Experience: Must have served as Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for at least 5 years in a recognized tertiary institution.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) or an equivalent body.
- Publications: Evidence of substantial scholarly contributions equivalent to a Chief Lecturer.
- Skills: Proficiency in ICT, library automation, and digital library management systems.
- Age: Must not be above 59 years old at the time of appointment.
