About the role
Guinea Insurance plc, established in 1958, is seeking a Claims Executive to join our team in Yaba, Lagos. You will play a key part in delivering professional insurance services by analyzing claims and ensuring accurate liability assessments. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who values customer satisfaction and efficient claims management.
Responsibilities
- Interpret policy wording and adjust claims to determine the company’s liability.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on paid and outstanding claims.
- Follow up on title documents, recoveries, and salvaged items to reduce claims outlay.
- Review loss adjusters’ reports and collate opinions from co-insurers.
- Communicate offers within 24 hours of receiving all necessary approvals.
- Register claim notifications in the software and allocate claim numbers.
- Assist field staff with investigations to verify the validity of reported claims.
- Prepare claim requisitions and vouchers for payments to claimants and professionals.
Requirements
- First degree in any discipline.
- 3–5 years of progressive work experience as an Insurance Claims Executive.
- CIIN certification is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and claims judgement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
