About the role
SANY Nigeria, a subsidiary of the global heavy-duty equipment leader SANY Group, is looking for a motivated Chinese Translator to join the Finance Team in Abuja. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Finance Department, facilitating communication between Chinese and local stakeholders. It is ideal for professionals who are passionate about cross-cultural communication and interested in developing their knowledge of finance and business operations within a leading multinational organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate Mandarin-English interpretation during meetings, discussions, and business engagements.
- Translate financial reports, business correspondence, presentations, policies, and other documents between Chinese and English.
- Support communication between the Chinese Finance Manager and local teams.
- Assist with day-to-day coordination and follow-up on finance-related activities.
- Facilitate effective communication across multicultural teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of all translated information.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks within the Finance Department when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Translation, International Relations, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Chinese Translator, Interpreter, or in a similar bilingual role.
- Experience working with Chinese companies, Chinese expatriates, multinational organizations, or finance/business support functions is an added advantage.
- Strong interpretation and translation skills with high levels of accuracy and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a finance-focused business environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is an advantage.
