About the role
Stellar International Company Limited, a subsidiary of RSIN Group, is seeking a Chief Security Officer (CSO) to join its team in Sagamu, Ogun. The company operates three businesses: Recycling Ant, Ant Express, and Antshop Online. This is a full-time position focused on maritime safety, security, and operational management.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and account for vessel trim, stability, and weight distribution to ensure ship stability and safety.
- Manage administrative tasks including paperwork, cost control, inventory for the deck department, and crew welfare.
- Oversee ballast and de-ballasting operations, garbage disposal, and environmental compliance under international codes.
- Ensure adherence to international maritime laws such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and ISM/ISPS codes, and prepare the vessel for port state and class surveys.
- Manage the maintenance of the ship’s hull, cargo areas, and accommodation spaces.
- Lead, schedule, and supervise the deck crew, including training junior officers and cadets.
- Perform regular navigational watchkeeping duties on the bridge.
- Maintain life-saving appliances (LSA) and fire-fighting appliances (FFA), coordinate emergency drills, and act as the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
- Oversee cargo planning, loading, stumping, and unloading in ports, as well as the maintenance of cargo gear.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have relevant experience in maritime security, safety management, and deck department operations. Familiarity with international maritime regulations and codes is essential.
