About the role
Startup Soar is recruiting a Cashier for a restaurant in Wuse 2, Abuja. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of one day on, one day off, resulting in approximately 15 working days per month. The monthly salary is N70,000.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer payments accurately using the POS system and other approved methods.
- Issue receipts and confirm payment status for customer orders.
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, cash receipts, and electronic payments.
- Balance cash and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
- Prepare end-of-shift sales summaries and submit reports to management.
- Provide polite, professional, and prompt customer service.
- Verify bank transfers and electronic payment confirmations through approved channels.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and secure cashier station.
Requirements
- Minimum of an HND or BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical and calculation skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, computer applications, and sales reporting.
- Familiarity with POS systems, bank transfers, card payments, and other electronic payment methods.
- High level of honesty, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Previous experience as a Cashier or in a payment-handling role, preferably in hospitality.
