About the role
Coinbase is hiring a Senior Associate to support the compliance program for Coinbase Canada. You will work remotely with a team that meets quarterly for in-person “surges.” This role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance as the business expands its products and services in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Own AML/ATF compliance reporting, including STR and LVCTR filings under FINTRAC guidelines.
- Manage compliance cases within SLAs, providing guidance on escalations and EDD reviews.
- Track FINTRAC announcements and legislative changes to update the financial crimes compliance program.
- Coordinate responses to information requests from fiat partners.
- Lead automation initiatives for KYC, EDD, and reporting processes with cross-functional teams.
- Execute risk assessments and compliance reporting for the Canadian entity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of financial crimes compliance experience in financial services, preferably in crypto, fintech, or FINTRAC-regulated entities.
- Working knowledge of Canadian regulations, including FINTRAC guidelines and PCMLTFA.
- Experience managing compliance cases, conducting EDD reviews, and producing regulatory filings.
- In-depth understanding of cryptocurrency transaction flows and AML/ATF frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight.
Pay and benefits
The annual base salary is CAD 122,100. Total compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage.
