About the role
Penafort Energy Nigeria Limited is a diversified company operating in energy, retail, beverages, and automotive services. They are looking for a dedicated Butchery Personnel to join their team in Festac Town, Lagos. This is a full-time position focused on delivering quality meat products and exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and prepare meat products, including cutting, trimming, deboning, and slicing.
- Weigh, package, label, and price meat accurately while minimizing wastage.
- Maintain strict hygiene and sanitation standards, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure meat products are stored at the correct temperature and monitor expiry dates.
- Operate butchery equipment safely and report any faulty tools or machines immediately.
- Provide professional customer service by assisting with meat selection and enquiries.
- Monitor stock levels, apply FIFO/FEFO principles, and assist with inventory counts.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning work areas and securing products.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a butchery, supermarket, or meat shop is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of meat cuts, handling procedures, and food hygiene practices.
- Ability to safely use knives and butchery equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
