About the role
Tulips n Lilies Confectionery (TLC Bakery) is a leading bakery in Ibadan known for its high-quality cakes and confectionery. We are looking for a hands-on, results-driven Bakery Manager to lead our daily production operations. This is a full-time position based in Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can manage people, maintain high standards, control costs, and consistently meet production targets. You will be responsible for driving excellence in product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning: Develop and execute daily production plans based on orders and forecasts. Monitor output and address delays promptly.
- Quality Control: Ensure all products meet standards for taste, appearance, and freshness. Identify and fix causes of defects or complaints.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop bakers and production assistants. Set clear expectations and maintain discipline and productivity.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate procurement requests and ensure proper storage and stock rotation to prevent interruptions.
- Cost Control: Monitor ingredient usage and implement measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Food Safety: Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices across all production areas.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and establish standard operating procedures to improve turnaround time and consistency.
- Reporting: Submit accurate daily production reports and track key performance indicators such as output, wastage, and staff performance.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing production staff, schedules, and quality standards.
- Relevant experience in bakery operations, pastry production, confectionery, or food manufacturing.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
- Evidence of achievements and measurable results in previous roles is highly advantageous.
- High performance standards, ownership, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage costs while maintaining product quality.
