About the role
Elite Talent Placement is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead operations in Benin, Edo. This full-time position reports to the Group General Manager and focuses on running a profitable, high-quality, and compliant bakery. You will manage production, staff, and costs while ensuring regulatory standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Plan daily and weekly production based on orders and forecasts, controlling yield and wastage.
- Enforce approved recipes, specifications, and shelf-life standards to maintain quality.
- Maintain NAFDAC registration, labelling, and food-safety compliance; close inspection findings on time.
- Manage ingredient and packaging inventory, requisitions, and stock counts within approved limits.
- Track cost per unit, gross margin, and utilities; recommend pricing and product-mix changes.
- Service ovens, mixers, and other equipment on schedule; keep the bakery clean and safe.
- Supervise bakers and production staff, managing rosters, attendance, and performance.
- Collaborate with the Bakery Marketer on forecasts, lead times, and promotions.
- Submit weekly production, cost, and compliance reports; maintain accurate records for Finance and Audit.
Requirements
- HND or B.Sc in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Hospitality/Catering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of bakery or food production experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of baking, food safety, and NAFDAC requirements.
- Experience in cost control and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Leadership skills, integrity, and attention to detail.
