About the role
We are a professional virtual assistant service that connects employers with skilled remote assistants. We are currently recruiting a skilled and creative Baker/Cake Decorator to join our team in Somolu, Lagos. This is a full-time, onsite position with a work schedule from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of cakes and pastries while ensuring consistent quality, presentation, taste, and adherence to production standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in cake production and decoration, particularly with buttercream and fondant, and should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Responsibilities
- Bake and decorate different flavours and varieties of cakes according to recipes and required specifications.
- Prepare and produce a range of pastries while maintaining consistent quality and taste.
- Execute cake designs based on customer requirements, reference images, or provided specifications.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout the baking process.
- Work collaboratively with other bakery team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Support with additional bakery tasks or extended working hours when required.
Requirements
- OND / HND in a relevant field is an added advantage but practical baking experience and demonstrated skill are most important.
- Proven hands-on experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef.
- Good attention to detail and strong sense of presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and meet customer deadlines.
- Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Must reside within approximately 30 minutes to the workplace.
