About the role
Hilton Worldwide is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to join its team in Lagos. In this position, you will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily maintenance operations and leading a high-performing team. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of the hotel’s physical building and systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, train, and mentor maintenance team members to build a motivated and high-performing group.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily maintenance activities, prioritizing tasks, and verifying completion via the property maintenance management system.
- Oversee the maintenance of the building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems while ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.
- Monitor departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity to drive performance improvements.
- Collaborate with hotel leadership on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and safety protocols.
- Supervise external contractors and inspect their work for quality and compliance.
- Support and oversee property-wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
