About the role
Baker Hughes is looking for an Assembly Repair Maintenance Overhaul Technician (ARMO) to join their Wireline Services team in Port Harcourt, Rivers. In this position, you will take ownership of equipment assembly and maintenance, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and deliver high-quality services to customers.
Responsibilities
- Assemble semi-complex mechanical components using assembly drawings and bills of materials.
- Perform functional and operational testing on assemblies according to engineering and customer requirements.
- Operate test equipment in compliance with established engineering standards and procedures.
- Apply settings, calibrate, and maintain assembly tools and equipment.
- Perform torquing of mechanical components according to specifications.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and assemblies.
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly, testing, and repair activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, safety, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent Mechanical qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical assembly, maintenance, repair, or overhaul experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, machines, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection instruments.
- Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and maintenance documentation systems.
