First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank) is seeking an Area General Services Manager to join its team in Kebbi. As Nigeria’s largest financial services institution by total assets, FirstBank offers a comprehensive range of retail and corporate financial services through over 750 branches. This full-time position focuses on maintaining the physical infrastructure and operational standards of the bank’s facilities within the designated zone.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general civil and building works to ensure timely, cost-effective, and professional execution.
- Provide regular updates to line managers on property status, project progress, and HSE compliance.
- Manage the allocation of office spaces to staff for optimal use.
- Monitor compliance with government regulations, environmental standards, and urban development policies.
- Foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties such as regulatory agencies and landlords.
- Safeguard staff, customers, and bank assets by ensuring a safe and secure physical environment.
- Coordinate the construction of new branches and the renovation of existing facilities.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all bank-owned or leased properties.
- Manage the upkeep of engineering infrastructure, including HVAC, generators, electrical systems, and plumbing.
- Ensure branch ambience reflects the bank’s customer service and brand standards.
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
- Oversee the timely processing of facility-related tax obligations to prevent financial penalties.
Requirements
- A First Degree in Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years’ relevant experience.
- Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
