About the role
Stanbic IBTC Bank is looking for a resourceful Application Support Analyst to join its team in Lagos. As part of a leading African banking group, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability, performance, and reliability of the bank’s digital banking core. This position focuses on ensuring zero-downtime operations through rapid incident response and deep-dive root cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of escalation for integration issues involving Finacle, coordinating with the Core Banking team to resolve data discrepancies and API failures.
- Lead incident response efforts, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and driving a blameless root cause analysis process to prevent recurring outages.
- Monitor the stability of OpenShift and other servers, ensuring optimal performance of middleware services.
- Drive strategies for advanced alerting and logging using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Dynatrace to detect anomalies before they impact users.
- Oversee the safe deployment of hotfixes and platform updates, ensuring automated rollbacks are in place for failed changes.
- Achieve an average Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) of less than 45 minutes for critical integration incidents.
- Maintain 99.99% uptime for critical integration gateways connecting to Finacle.
Requirements
- BSc in IT, Computer Sciences, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of deep operational experience with Finacle Core Banking, including troubleshooting integrators, batch job failures, and messaging protocols.
- Expert-level ability to read and debug Java code.
- Strong experience supporting containerized workloads in OpenShift, including log analysis and pod debugging.
- Experience with Terraform/Ansible for automation and Kafka/RabbitMQ for message-queue monitoring.
- Medium proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL for data investigation and performance tuning.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation or Oracle Certified Associate are an added advantage.
