About the role
The Label Store is a retail business in Surulere, Lagos, offering clothing, accessories, and high-quality groceries. We are looking for a responsible and experienced Accounts Executive to help manage our financial records, reporting, and day-to-day accounting activities. This full-time position is ideal for someone with strong accounting knowledge who can provide accurate financial information to support management decisions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, revenues, and other financial activities.
- Develop and maintain effective accounting policies and internal controls.
- Generate financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Reconcile daily sales and bank statements.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably as an Accountant, Senior Accountant, Head of Accounts, or Finance Manager.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ICAN/ACCA certification or part-qualification is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Retailman, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
- Previous experience in the retail or supermarket industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
