About the role
Sayed Farms Limited specializes in the poultry sector and the distribution of high-quality frozen foods in Nigeria. We are seeking an experienced and objective-driven Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts department in Ibadan, Oyo. This full-time position focuses on strengthening inventory controls and ensuring accurate financial reporting across our operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory variances, wastage, obsolete stock, and slow-moving items.
- Collaborate with Stores, Warehouse, Procurement, Production, and Internal Audit teams to enhance inventory controls.
- Lead physical stock counts and reconcile inventory balances with accounting records.
- Prepare inventory reports, reconciliation statements, cost analyses, and management reports.
- Support internal and external audits while recommending improvements to inventory accounting processes.
- Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, packaging, finished goods, spare parts, and other stock items.
- Review inventory valuation, costing, stock adjustments, and provisions to ensure accuracy.
- Review stock transactions to ensure proper documentation and authorization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant accounting experience, with specialized experience in inventory accounting.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong knowledge of inventory valuation, cost accounting, and stock reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, feedmill, or other inventory-intensive industries is preferred.
- ICAN or ACCA qualification is an advantage.
