About the role
Valuemart Limited is a dynamic retail and hospitality company operating in retail, bakery, restaurant, and café services. We are looking for an Accountant to join our Accounts and Finance department in Maitama, Abuja. This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all transactions are documented and comply with company policies.
- Maintain accurate financial records for audits and statutory reporting.
- Record and monitor expenses, verifying receipts and invoices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales, expense, and profit reports.
- Identify and report unauthorized transactions or financial irregularities.
- Maintain supplier records and prepare payment schedules.
- Reconcile daily sales from POS, cash, transfers, and card payments.
- Verify cash balances and investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare salary schedules and verify payroll deductions.
- Monitor stock purchases, usage, and food costs with the Storekeeper and Head Chef.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- 1 – 2 years of experience.
