About the role
Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Hospital is a faith-based facility in Kubwa, Abuja, dedicated to bridging the gap between public health services and community needs. We are seeking a dedicated Accident & Emergency Nurse to join our full-time team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate incoming patients to prioritize care based on medical severity.
- Assist in life-saving procedures such as CPR, ACLS, airway management, and hemorrhage control.
- Administer emergency medications, start IV lines, dress wounds, and assist with minor surgeries.
- Monitor vital signs, analyze lab results, and track patient conditions during acute changes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and provide support to patients and families.
- Complete discharge paperwork and organize transfers to wards or ICUs.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Accident and Emergency Nurse (RAEN) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in A&E nursing.
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Valid life support credentials including BLS and ACLS.
- Prior experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, or general wards is preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure and proficiency with resuscitation equipment.
