Yuletide: NSCDC warns against fireworks, deploys 750 personnel

The Nigerian Security and Corps, NSCDC, has warned against the use of fireworks during Christmas and New Year Celebrations.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Jigawa State spokesman, CSC Adamu Shehu and made available to OMADAILY.

He advised the people of the State to be extra and security conscious during the celebration.

“Festive periods have their security challenges, including thefts, burglaries, larceny, thuggery, public nuisance, use of drugs, fire outbreaks triggered by harmattan wind, fireworks and use of knockouts,” he stated.

He explained that in an effort to peaceful Christmas and New Year Celebrations in Jigawa State, the State Commandant Mustapha Talba (CC), has also ordered the immediate deployment of 750 personnel to ensure a hitch celebration across the 27 Local Government Areas in the State.

He also called on the good people of the State to be more vigilant, law abiding and report any suspicious activity to the nearest formation.

He finally wished the Christian happy Christmas and urged them to pray for the State and the nation at large.
