EPL: Guardiola, Cesc Fabregas react to Conte’s appointment as ’s new manager

City boss, Pep Guardiola, has welcomed “outstanding” Antonio Conte back to the English Premier League, EPL, after the Italian was named Hotspur’s new manager on Tuesday.

Conte was appointed as ’s new head coach on Tuesday following the sacking of Nuno Santo.

The 52-year-old signed an initial 18- contract with retaining the option of extending that deal if all are satisfied.

Reacting, Guardiola, during his pre- press conference ahead of Man City’s Champions League clash with Club on Wednesday, : “First of all, welcome back to England, to the Premier League.

“His speaks perfectly for itself. He has had success everywhere. An absolutely outstanding manager.”

Also reacting, AS Monaco midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, who played under Conte during their time together at , hailed for appointing his former manager to take charge at Spurs.

“I hate to say it, but what an appointment by Spurs,” Fabregas wrote on Twitter.

Conte will take charge of for the first time against Vitesse in the Europa League on Thursday.

His first Premier League game for will be against Everton on Sunday
