EFCC arrests 27 for oil bunkering in Rivers


Officials of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have announced the of 27 bunkers.

In a statement, the Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were arrested in a random raid conducted by the EFCC last weekend at Ahoada East and West Local Areas of Rivers .

The statement disclosed that large quantities of products suspected to be illegally- refined Automotive Oil were found with them.

Uwujaren said as at the of the arrest, 20 jerry cans and 25 litres of the products, stored in drums and tanks were for onward transportation to various , before they were intercepted.

He said the suspects would be charged to as soon as the investigation is concluded.
