2023: PANPIEC insists on Nigeria president of Igbo extraction

A socio-political group, Pan- Presidency of Igbo Extraction Coalition (PANPIEC), as adduced reasons why the Igbo nation must be given the opportunity to occupy the nation’s presidency in 2023.

The group said allowing Igbo nation to produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor would help to restore peace and stability in the country, pointing out that Nigeria needs to end its own version of political injustice by electing an Igbo as President in 2023.

PANPIEC, in a statement issued by its Executive Secretary, Chuks Ibegbu and forwarded to OMADAILY on Sunday, said the people of Igbo nation have contributed a lot to national development and deserves to be supported to produce the next Nigeria President.

According to the organization, political is hardly a moral and sentimental but a time comes when moral becomes a factor too as it happened when former President and Goodluck Jonathan became President respectively to satiate their deeply wounded people.

“Such is the situation today. The Igbos have been deeply wounded in all ramification and need to be supported to produce the next Nigeria President in 2023.”

The PANPIEC called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the political parties and stakeholders to do the needful and make it possible.

According to the group, “Let Nigeria allow political justice to prevail in 2023.

“The USA ended the political injustice in the country by electing Barack Obama as its President some years ago.

“The aparthied regime in South Africa handed over power to Nelson Mandela after end of apartheid in the 90’s.

“I thank you all gurus for time to attend this world press conference.”

Meanwhile, PANPIEC has congratulated the governor-elect and the of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Charles Soludo on his resounding victory at the just concluded gubernatorial in Anambra state.

It lauded Anambra people for the democratic decision they took and called on other candidates to support Soludo to move the state forward.

The socio-political body called on the government to the current structural challenges facing the southeast in Nigeria.
